Creating an Agency News Article Page
1. Select where in the sitemap the new page should be created. Click through the site hierarchy to determine the location. Agency News Article pages are always created in your agency’s folder, usually under the Newsroom parent page. In the example below, the page is created as part of the Lt. Governor folder, in the Newsroom folder.
2. Click the parent page so it highlights.
3. Click “Create,” then select “Page” from the dropdown.
4. From the “Create Page” template options, select “Agency News Article Template,” then “Next.”
5. The author should now fill out Page Properties for the newly created page.
a. Basic tab
i. Title field: Give the page a title using 80 characters or less. If a longer title is needed, enter the longer title in the Navigation Title field.
ii. Navigation Title field: Enter the longer page title here, if needed.
6. Click “Create.” The page is now part of the site hierarchy.
7. Click “Open” to edit the page immediately. Click “Done” to return to the site hierarchy.
Editing an Agency News Article Page
1. Find the page in the sitemap. Click through the site hierarchy to find the location. In the example below, the page to edit is called “Lt. Gov Austin Davis Visits Department of General Services” The page is in the CoPA PWP PA.gov site, in the Home (en) folder, in the Lt Governor folder, in the Newsroom folder. Select the checkbox.
2. Upon click, a menu appears at the top of the screen. Select "Properties."
a. Basic tab
i. Hide in Navigation checkbox: Select the checkbox. This keeps the page from appearing in Side Navigation. Due to the high number of press releases, it is recommended to hide them from Side Navigation (they will still appear in Newsroom search).
b. CoPA tab
i. Date of Press Release (only author on Agency News Article templates) datepicker: This field is autopopulated with the date of the page's creation. Change the date if needed. The date will appear in the Hero, and will be used in Newsroom search and in dynamic Lists (see List user guide for more detail).
3. Click "Save & Close." Return to the sitemap with the page selected. From the menu at the top of the screen, select "Edit."
4. The page opens in the editing mode, and components can be added accordingly.
5. The agency’s Side Navigation component appears on the left (desktop) or top (tablet/mobile) by default. Authors do not need to add it.
a. Agency News Articles intentionally do not appear in Side Navigation, as "Hide in Navigation" is checked off in Page Properties.
b. If the Side Navigation Experience Fragment (XF) is updated in general, changes will reflect on the template.

6. The agency’s Media Contacts appears above the Footer by default. Authors do not need to add it.
a. If the agency has no Media Contacts XF authored, it will not display.
b. If the Media Contacts XF is updated in general, changes will reflect on the template. The same goes for the referenced Person Content Fragment(s).
c. Reference the Media Contacts user guide for more information.
7. The agency’s press channels are linked in the Social Media XF, which appears below the Hero by default. Authors do not need to add it.
a. If the agency has no Social Media XF authored, it will not display.
b. If the Social Media XF is updated in general, changes will reflect on the template.

a. If the page lives under a parent page with Email Subscription configurations, publication will trigger an email to subscribers.
i. The page title will be included in the email subject line.
ii. The Hero title + first Text component on the page will be included in the email body.
iii. The email will link users to the page on AEM.

Other Tips
- The Agency News Article template uses a two-column layout on desktop. On tablet/mobile, it truncates to one column.
- Residents can search for News Articles by searching on the agency's Newsroom page. If page isn't showing in results, check if the date of press release is authored in Page Properties.
- The Quote style in Text component provides a distinct visual to quotes.
