Authoring Fields
Adding the Map component to the page
1. Once on the desired page in Edit mode, add the Map by doing the following:
a. Option 1- double click on “Drag components here.” A modal titled “Insert New Component” will pop up. Type “Map” in the search bar, or scroll to the Map in the list. Double click to add to page.
b. Option 2- on the left hand rail, navigate to the Components tab. Type “Map” in the search bar, or scroll to the Map in the list. Double click to add to page.
Editing the Map component
- With the edit wrench, open the component.
- Map Search Hub pathfinder: Select the Search Hub whose results should display in the Map.
- Facets dropdown fields: Add facets for residents to use as filters. These correspond to tags on each Location Card- Address Content Fragments.
- When residents select each facet, search results will narrow. All facet options will display on default.
- Search Label field: Add "Search" to the field. Text entered doesn't visibly show, but is part of the HTML label tag. Useful for accessibility.
- Search Input Label field: Text displays within the search box. Sample text: "Enter an address."
- Distance Label field: Text displays above distance filters. Sample text: "Distance."
- No Results Message text area: Text displays when resident searches an address and there are no results. Sample text: "No results found. Search a new address."
Accessibility
- Author the Search Label field with "Search" for accessibility purposes.
Other tips
- Location Card- Address Content Fragments need a latitude/longitude authored in order to appear in a Map. It may be added in two ways:
- Leave the lat/long fields blank, and publish the CF. Refresh, and lat/long will appear dynamically.
- Author the lat/long fields manually.
- Map results will show all fields that may appear on a regular Location Card- Address search result.
