DCNR alert + event reference (restricted use) These components are specific to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources's parks and forests pages. Both reference an external server to display information about specific parks and forests.
-
Global alert + content fragment (restricted use) Global alerts prominently display messages at the top of the screen. They bring the user's attention to a significant or critical situation. They're created as content fragments and added to the header. Only a small number of site admins and Governor's Office staff can author global alerts. Agency authors can use in-page alerts instead. These are added to individual pages.
-
Image The image component allows a single image to be displayed on the page. Images are adaptive; the appropriate image width is selected for the screen size.
-
Hero The hero is located at the top of the screen under the header. It introduces the purpose of the page, including the H1 title.
-
In-page alert + content fragment In-page alerts convey important, time-sensitive information. They appear inline with the page content. In AEM, in-page alerts are created as content fragments. The author adds the content fragment to each relevant page.
-
List The list groups related content together vertically. All list items include links to internal or external pages. Leading icons and images are optional.
-
Accordion The accordion is a vertically stacked list of headers that reveal or hide associated sections of content.
-
Breadcrumb The breadcrumb is a secondary navigation pattern that helps a user understand and navigate through a page hierarchy. It is locked into all AEM templates, just below the header.

Templates and Components
Components are individual elements that allow for quick construction of a page. Templates are page layouts that provide consistent styles for web content. Together, templates and components are the pieces used to construct readable, accessible pages on AEM.
