Page management
- Migration from SharePoint/WordPress: Pages were migrated based on Excel workbook sitemap, not based on Figma sitemap.
- Page names: Page names should not have capitals. Having capitals in page names break the page and will not work once agency is live. If your page name has capitals, change to lowercase.
- Deletion of Pages:
- Archive deleted page: checked
- Archive deleted page: unchecked Ensure pages are completely deleted when no longer needed.
- Moving and Renaming Pages:
- Select the page with a checkmark.
- Choose “Move” from the top navigation.
- Retitle and rename the page if desired.
- Select the new parent location (e.g., check “Pennsylvania Justice Network” for top-level placement).
- Click “Next,” then “Move.”
- Refresh to view the page in its new location.
- For more info, go to the Moving and Copying Pages user guide.
- Bulk Moving Pages: Use “Copy” from the top navigation to move pages in bulk. Ensure pages are moved before deleting old versions.
Publishing process
- When to publish: Sapient will mass publish pages for initial agency launch on AEM. Following launch, authors should publish their own pages. Reference the Publishing Process user guide for more info.
- Extracts for Tracking: Sapient can pull an extract of all AEM pages to help track completed authoring pages.
Template and content creation
- Service Detail Template: Use the provided template for creating service pages. You can copy/paste this template into your Services section, or just use it as a guide. It is available in the Services folder.
- Service Page Titles: Service pages should be titled with actions (e.g., “File a Right-to-Know Request” instead of “Right-to-Know Request”).
- Creating New Agency News Articles:
- Select the Agency News Article template.
- Title should be 80 characters or less (for analytics).
- In Page Properties:
- Basic tab:
- Navigation Title field: Use this if the title is longer than 80 characters.
- Hide in Navigation checkbox: Check this so the page doesn’t show in Side Navigation.
- CoPA tab:
- Date of Press Release field: Select the date of release, which displays in the Hero section and determines search result placement.
- Basic tab:
Content and link updates
- Hero required: A Hero is required on every page – it provides the H1 title.
- SharePoint/WordPress links: Links to old agencies websites must be updated, or have redirects implemented. Otherwise residents will land on a "page not found" page. Updates should be made for both pages and assets (documents, PDFs, etc.).
- Component Usage: Do not use these components except as specified (intended for Code PA and specific agency use).
Navigation and Side Navigation
- Adding Pages to Side Navigation:
- Agency pages added to your agency's section will automatically populate in Side Navigation.
- Services pages can also be added to Side Navigation.
- Create a new page in Agencies --> your agency.
- Open Page Properties.
- Under the Advanced tab, find the Redirect field and add the page that should be linked to. The page will now be linked in Side Navigation.
